This antenna is based on an in-house developed transition from a coaxial 1.85 mm connector to the feed point of a Vivaldi-type radiator structure. The transverse electromagnetic wave (TEM) propagating in the coaxial cable and connector is converted to a transverse form (TE), which enables a smooth impedance continuum from the connector to the radiator over a very wide frequency range. The unique solution is one of the masterpieces of ExcellAnt’s experts in many ways and despite its simple structure, the performance is exceptionally good.
